Island Energy was alerted to a power outage at about 5:20am Saturday, March 16th, affecting most of Mare Island. The Island Energy crew was on-site by 6:15am, and power was restored at about 8:00am utilizing a parallel backup circuit.
It was determined that there was an apparent electrical fault in underground circuit EH-118-2-Z, and believed to be in the area of Bldg 121 (tbd) . This is one our two circuits connecting Station H (IE’s primary electrical interconnection point on Mare Island) and Station E (Bldg 801). Station E distributes power throughout Mare Island.
The exact location of the ground-fault will be identified and assessed, a repair made and the circuit will be returned to service. Island Energy regrets the disruption.
