Sewer collection
The City of Pittsburg maintains the collection system that transports the sewage to the treatment plant at Delta Diablo Sanitation District. The monthly sewer charge for a single-family is a flat fee. The non-single-family fee is based on the type of facility.
Refer to Water and Sewer Rates [PDF] (effective 8/1/2022) for specific rate information.
The City is required to prepare a Sewer System Management Plan (SSMP) in compliance with the State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB) Order 2006-0003. | View the updated SSMP as of December 2019.
Pittsburg Water’s rates: A closer look
We can only charge customers what it costs to deliver water services to their property, and no more. There are two parts that make up our monthly water bills: water usage rates and fixed meter charges.
Pittsburg's Spill Emergency Response Plan
The City of Pittsburg takes pride in its vital location along the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta, a precious natural resource we are committed to protecting. This Spill Emergency Response Plan (SERP) serves as our proactive blueprint for ensuring a swift, coordinated, and effective response to any Sanitary Sewer Spills (SSPs) that might occur within our city's service area.
Think of this SERP as our dedicated playbook, providing clear guidelines for our City personnel to expertly manage every stage of a sewer spill incident – from the initial response and thorough cleanup to meticulous reporting. This plan isn't just a set of procedures; it's a reflection of our dedication to maintaining the health of our community and the integrity of our waterways.
The SERP is a direct result of the State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB) Statewide General Waste Discharge Requirements (GWDR). By adhering to these essential state mandates, Pittsburg demonstrates its ongoing commitment to responsible wastewater management and environmental stewardship for the benefit of all who call our city home.
