July 20th Power Outage

Island Energy experienced a power outage on Saturday, July 20th at approximately 1:30pm affecting primarily commercial customers along the waterfront.  Power was restored around 8:00pm.  The initial investigation indicates the outage was due to attempted cable theft in Bldg 69 located at the waterfront and to the south of the Coal Sheds – multiple cut cables.   More information may be provided as we learn more.
