Outage – Residential

On Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at 9:34am, Island Energy experienced a residential power outage affecting Kirkland Ave. and some adjacent streets.   Upon investigation, a blown fuse was located in a termination cabinet near the elementary school.  It was further determined that the root cause of the outage was a shorted termination lug in a sectionalizing cabinet at the south end of Tisdale Ave. – likely the result of moisture accumulation over time.  Repairs and preventive actions were taken with power restored at approximately 2:00pm.
